Meet our H.S.A. 2nd Vice President - Maria Lemus
Mother to Aribelle (5th Grade), Gisella (2nd Grade), and Xander (J.K.)
As a graduate of George McCann, I have been connected to the school for over fourteen years (9 years as a student and 5 years as a parent). My own educational experiences at GMC prepared me for life and inspired me to realize the importance of faith, service, and community. I am grateful that my own children, Aribelle 4th, Gisella 1st, Xander 3E, can also be part of the GMC family. Over the years, I have become more involved at GMC and have enjoyed finding ways to volunteer, meet new people, and support the needs of the school. I currently serve as Vice President on the HSA Board and hope to continue in this role. This year I have focused my attention on helping families understand the importance of SCRIP and the various purchasing options. I would love to continue this ongoing work to support our SCRIP program and in turn benefit the school. In addition, I am also a member of the GMC Ball Committee for Moonlight Serenade. My past involvement includes being a room parent (for Kindergarten and first grade), volunteering in various classrooms, selling SCRIP on Fridays, and serving as HSA Director. On a professional note, I teach at Fresno Pacific University in the School of Education. In my role, I teach classes, advise students, and mentor teachers. I feel my passion for teaching coupled with my love of Catholic education will continue to bring forth important perspectives as we work to strengthen our school community. I also believe my strong relationships with diverse families from different grade levels can provide opportunities to embrace new, innovative ideas. Thank you and God Bless!
