Meet our H.S.A. President - Maria Lemus

Mother to Aribelle (6th Grade), Gisella (3rd Grade) and Xander (Kindergarten)

Born and raised in Visalia, I attended George McCann from Kindergarten to 8th grade. I have fond memories of my educational experiences at GMC, and I am grateful my own children can be part of this wonderful faith community. I teach at Fresno Pacific University within the School of Education. In addition to teaching classes, I also advise students and mentor beginning teachers. On a personal note, I love spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy reading, dancing, working out, and traveling. Prior to being elected H.S.A. President, I served as one of the Vice Presidents for two previous terms and focused my attention on helping families understand the importance of SCRIP and the various purchasing options. I volunteer in the classroom for art lessons, help at school events, and enjoy supporting new families. My past involvement also includes being a room parent, member of the GMC Ball Committee, and H.S.A. Director. I look forward to finding new ways for GMC families to come together to serve and support the needs of the school. I believe my relationships with families from different grade levels can help strengthen our school community. I find myself approachable and willing to listen to suggestions, feedback, and ideas. With a wave of new families over the past several years, I want to ensure everyone feels connected. I also believe it is important to keep an open line of communication with the veteran families and learn from their wisdom and experience.
